MPs Mukwaya, Byandaala, Bakabulindi, Robert Sebunya, also cheer action taken

Last Thursday, September 10, Buganda Kingdom and the Central Government were on the brink of an ugly confrontation. But things took a dramatic turn when some of the 53 NRM MPs from Buganda who had a day before walked out of Parliament in protest against the government’s attempt to block Kabaka’s visit to Bugerere, in Kayunga District, took turns during a meeting with Museveni, to pay glowing tribute to the President’s high-handed handling of the kingdom.

The MPs met Museveni at State House Entebbe to discuss the standoff. This was at the peak of violent clashes between Police and Buganda demonstrators protesting the blocking of Katikkiro J.B. Walusimbi from accessing Kayunga to prepare for the Kabaka’s visit.
